LISTEN TO ME!

1)Buy a copy of Bobby Bare Jr.'s Newest album, The Longest Meow---IT IS AMAZING!
Perhaps I'll write a review of it here at some point, but then again when do I ever post things when I say I will.
2)(Applies if you live in CoMO) GO SEE the aforementioned Bobby Bare Jr. and his "Young Criminals" when they come to Mojo's on Oct. 21st and give him a hug while you're there, or at least stand up while they are playing music (in other words don't be a Lamey Lamerson).
3) Give me money as a reward, since I gave you, my readers (all 3 of you) such GREAT advice.

Sipping "The Cambridge"

As I sit in the 1st floor lounge finishing homework for tomorrow (that is delaying sleep), I realized that I am blessed by the family that I have. I had a great, hectic, crazy, weekend in St. Louis (city and county) with the beautiful Miss Trock, my bro, his wife, my dad, step-mom, mom, grandpa, and step grandma. This realization is important for several reasons: 1) my family dynamics are wierd at best, and 2) I have been griping about how I don't have many (or any) friends recently. I realized that I am surrounded by great people and am lucky to have what I have, a wonderful fiance, great parents, a remarkably great relationship with my brother and Sarah, a few budding friendships, and one dynamic friendship with the all great Mr. Mourning. Who cares if people in my past don't like me, I have love all around, sometimes wierd, crazy, fractured love, but love nonetheless.
In other words have a good life JB, KR, JR, or any other person that has entered and left my life.

Possibly the best "The Cambridge" I've had in a while.

ME ME ME...it's all about ME!

Here it is...a post from me
The last several months have been quite exciting, with the epicenter of excitement being an engagement. That's right Cari and I are engaged as of April 9, 2006!
In other news...it's the last day of summer vacation and I must say it was a pretty good/productive time. Cari and I got a lot done in the wedding department, I conducted "research" and built a good relationship with a professor, I worked it up at the Chase (always a good time) and I dug in the dirt at Cahokia Mounds--what could be better? The week before last, the beautiful Miss Trock, my mom and I trekked to Virginia for vacation. The highlight of the trip was a day trip to Charlottesville to visit Monticello and UVA. The Monticello visit was especially ammazing because the aformentioned proffessor helped arrange a meeting with the head archaeologist at the site. She gave us a tour of the current excavations and seemed genuinely interested in keeping in contact. As for UVA....I LOVED IT! I can really see myself going there for graduate school, and starting married life with Miss Trock there. The rest of the vacation was really a good time with visits to Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Bush Gardens.
The Saturday before we left, Miss Trock, Matty Mo, Michael and I went to see the one and only Bobby Bare Jr. at the Schlafely Tap Room. Bobby did not disappoint, he played a great set highlighted by a lot of new material. As always it was wonderful to see Matt and Michael, and we of coarse went to UB afterwards. At the concert Cari and I both got beers (it is a microbrewery after all) we chose the Pilsner selection because it's a Check beer...after two sips of the vile liquid, Cari cringed and said "Stupid heritage beer..."--I love you Cari.
I've grown tired of typing so this is the end. Maybe I'll post again and the subject won't be so much about ME.

The long wait is over

Hello all,
I decided today was the day to make my first official post. My life is boring, so I don't know what that says about people that read about my life, but ah well. This past weekend was superb to say the least, I traveled "up north" as my girlfriend would say to visit my brother and sister-in-law. It was a good time, we  had lots of good conversation, I couldn't ask for better people in my life. Of course with the trip came the neglect of all my work here at school, I'll get caught up some day.... like when people stop pestering me about posting in this blog thing. In case you were wondering life with Cari Anne, or the beautiful Ms. Trock as I like to call her, is wonderful, and I got to spend some time with her and her sister yesterday on our trek to the St. Louis Airport.
To make the move into things abstracted from my life, I have come accross a wonderful band that I should have listened to long ago, Uncle Tupelo, all of you Wilco fans NEED to listen to them if you haven't, good stuff, expresses the mid-west beautifully. I long to go to a good music event, it seems like it's been years. Ah well.
I'm sure further posts will be more provocative, and/or interesting, until then, stop bugging me.
